Rallyconnection can offer you a selection of courses to suit your driving ability, from novice drivers, to intermediate drivers,up to the more experienced driver. Suits and helmets with intercoms are provided please wear suitable footwear i.e.: trainers.
All courses have a similar format in driving technique, the only difference being the more seat time you have, the more car control you learn which enabled you to drive at a quicker safer pace.
Course A - 245 per person. Approx. seat time 50 mins.
Typical format prior to driving, (same procedure prior to every course).
When you arrive, sign on and get fitted with your suit and helmet.
Safety briefing: - general safety advice while attending all courses.
Co-driver spin with your instructor on Level 1, slowly at first and then increasing speed while explaining the stage and driving techniques all the time.
Your instructor will invite questions to ensure that you understand all instructions.
Now its your turn to drive 8 laps in a clockwise direction picking up the pace as you go. When you have reached an acceptable level of ability you will be taught how to handbrake properly and drift through the hairpins. There are a total of 40 hairpins in this direction so you will be very busy behind the wheel. After 8 laps you will stop for a break and your progress will be discussed.
Next you will drive in the opposite direction for 8 laps increasing the pace on every lap. This time you will need to concentrate more to control the car at higher speeds and develop quicker responses to instruction. This is where you get the real feel of control when you are power sliding these rally cars on loose gravel corners. After the 8 laps you will need a break and your progress is again discussed.
Next on to Level 2 which is a much more difficult stage with blind corners and tight hairpins. Your instructor will navigate you through the stage for 2 laps giving advice and encouragement as you go after which you will return to Level 1 for 1 competitive timed lap where you can demonstrate what you have learned during the course.
Your instructor will present you with your completed assessment sheet and again discuss your progress. Course ends.
This course can be run for individuals or groups up to 8 persons. Group days are usually on weekends, which start at 9 am. and will run until approx.1 p.m.
On group courses 2 rally cars are used so time between drives is at a minimum.
