For a fantastic day out that would be difficult to surpass the RallyConnection Experience based near Dungarvan in County Waterford is one you have to try. I had a birthday present of the intermediate course = 10 laps clockwise and 10 laps anti clockwise followed with a timed 5 laps. A group gathered in the paddock from across the country to take part that day Tea and Coffee was available and there was great craic amongst us all as the day progressed. Make no mistake these cars are not toys. They are properly prepared rallying machines, akin to what you’ll see competing at rallies across the country. You are kitted out in protective wear and helmet with intercom. Following a detailed briefing you are taken out by a professional driver to show you the course indicating braking points and position on the road. Then back at the start you switch places and take the wheel. As your time at the wheel progresses with direction and enthusiastic encouragement so does your confidence. Before long your times around the special stage start to fall. I had Tom beside me and thinking back I am again grinning from ear to ear remembering Stage 2 when it all started to flow over my 10 laps equating to a 6 mile stage. And wow the clock confirmed it; I had won the day in doing so I also became the quickest lady around the track which was the icing on the cake! Tom, I loved every second from start to finish, can’t wait to go back; I would very highly recommend it.
