TWO world renowned rally drivers taking part in Extreme E-racing in some of the most remotest parts of the world paid a visit to County Waterford last week for two days of training on the award-winning racing track at Rally Connection, based at Millstreet, Cappagh, reports Paul Mooney. Rallycross driver Timmy Hansen from Sweden and rally driver Catie Munnings from England, make up the team for Andretti United in Extreme E-racing.

“It can be hard to get proper training as a racing driver,” said Timmy, speaking to the Dungarvan Observer. “We can’t use our own car and we need some good places for training and this [Rally Connection] is a good training facility,” he said.
Timmy praised Rally Connection saying it has “good cars” to race around the dedicated track. “Although these cars are not electric, they have a steering wheel, gas and brake, so it’s good training for us,” said Timmy.
“Catie flew in from Barcelona and I flew in from Sweden and we came here [to Rally Connection] for some training.”
